Fins of the Valley

Here we are... in the Shenandoah Valley, in a tropical frame of mind

Alex Leist of the Paradise Charitable Foundation has announced that The Paradise Charitable Foundation will be auctioning off a hand made, one-of-a-kind, custom built Giltzow Guitar at this year's Meeting of the Minds Charity Auction.

This year's Meeting of the Minds Guitar is being built and donated by Mike Giltzow of Giltzow Guitars. The Guitar has been Autographed by Jimmy Buffett and other Coral Reefers who plan to sign it during the Convention.

You can follow along with the progress of the MOTM Guitar at the Giltzow site. Your will see the painstaking, wonderful work of Luthier, Mike Giltzow and even see the Buffett Autograph that is on this guitar.

The body of the guitar is to be made of Hawaiian Koa from Kauai, Hawaii, and the neck crafted from Honduran Mahogany with an Ebony fret board and peg head. The end graft and bindings will be Maple. To electrify the guitar, L.R. Baggs has donated an LB-6 pick up and pre-amp, known to be the highest quality. According to Mike, this custom built guitar would typically cost around $2,250.00 -- without Buffett's autograph.

The Guitar will be auctioned off at the Paradise Charitable Foundation auction on Saturday November 7, at the Casa Marina immediately after The Parrot Heads in Paradise general meeting. You do need to be registered for Meeting of the Minds to gain admittance to the Charity Auction so you can register at www.phip.com

Jersey Boyz Party

On another note, this year's Jersey Boyz Party sponsored by the Paradise Charitable Foundation will bring back James White, John Frinzi and Jim Morris -- better than ever -- at the Conch Farm courtyard stage on Thursday November 5, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

NOTE: FRUITCAKES
You know I was talking to my friend Desdemona the other day. She runs this space station and bake shop down near boomtown. She told me that human beings are flawed individuals. The cosmic bakers took us out of the oven a little too early -- and thats the reason were as crazy as we are.
And I believe it.
