You can't win them all! One loss means a big WIN for
Fins of the Valley!
You can see local FINS entry to the 2009 MOTM "Floridays" logo competition at the Parrot Heads in Paradise web site... at least the ones which didn't make it. The winner will not be unveiled until the actual event. But that loss is Fins of the Valley's WIN...

The art work produced by local FINS member Fred Showker has now become a design for the Fins of the Valley. The art is designed for a tshirt, but will also make a nice "framable" poster! Along with the new art, an adapted version has also been created for a tshirt pocket print! Seen below.
The art combines the famous "Fins" logo, along with images from the Buffet hall of fame: Buffet's plane, the Hemisphere Dancer from
Far Side of the World, a parrot in the beach chair, complete with MOTM tshirt, round-rim glasses and a pirate's hat from
Pirate Looks at 40. The clock on the tree reminds us it's
"5-o'clock somewhere" while the parrot head enjoys a Margarita with lime and salt, along with a
"Cheeseburger in Paridise". Look around and you'll find that outlaw shaker of sale, and the blown-out flip-flop in the sand.
Look a little deeper into the art! Stroll by the friendly shark, and out the dock of
"One Particular Harbor" you'll find the
"Last Mango," Jimmy's 45 ft. sport fishing yacht! You know you're in Key West, because the Mile Marker says "0" at the start of U.S. 1 - A1A, with the trusty 6-string guitar. Peeking out from behind is the green gecko! While sharing the
"Stories We Could Tell" we see scattered photographs in the sand... Captain Tony, the famous Key West sunset as seen from the CASA beach, and even a shot of
"Jimmy & The Parrot Heads" playing on stage at the 2008 MOTM!
We don't know yet if this art will ever make it onto the backs of
FINS of the VALLEY -- but we do know one thing for sure: artist Fred Showker has promised to present EACH member the club who attends MOTM this year with a collectable commemorative POSTER of the
2009 Meeting of the Minds -- an adapted version of the original art created for the logo contest, but personalized for our club! Collectable
"MOTM SURVIVOR" tshirts will also be available to MOTM travelers.
You can see all the entries submitted for this year's MOTM Logo Contest
here, except the winner!

Rumor has it Fred is also working on a "commemorative" tshirt design for the NISSAN BUTT BUSS attendees, but rumors have yet to be verified!
